Short profile about the School of Business Administration and Economics
Research and teaching undertaken at the School of Business Administration and Economics of Osnabrück University is characterized by a focus on Accounting, Applied Economics and Information Systems. With its Bachelor’s programs in Business Administration and Economics and in Information Systems, its consecutive Master’s programs in Applied Economics, Accounting and Economics, and Information Systems, the School is in the process of shifting from broad-based degree programs towards the strengthening and streamlining of these three priority areas in academic work and, in particular, a focus on microeconomic theories of New Institutional Economics. In the context of the internationalization strategy, courses are offered not only in German, but also in English, enabling close cooperation and the creation of structured PhD programs (3rd level of the Bologna Process). In addition, Business Administration and Economics is part of the polyvalent Dual Major Bachelor’s Degree as a minor subject, and Economics is offered as a core subject.
