The lecture deals with current economic policy issues of the European Union. For instance, economic policy reports such as those of the German Council of Economic Experts, the World Economic Outlook, and the annual report of the EEAG (European Economic Advisory Group) are examined. These reports are discussed in the context of the theoretical and empirical academic literature in economics.
The course cannot be taken if the previous module WIWI-M-16001-EC: International Economic Policy M I has already been taken.
