Topic: Fundamentals and applications of economic valuation methods (Discrete Choice Experiments) for public environmental goods.
Qualification goals: Students acquire advanced competencies in environmental and behavioral economics. They develop advanced methodological skills in economic valuation methods for public environmental goods, with a particular focus on Discrete Choice Experiments (DCEs). In addition, research-related academic skills are strengthened throughout the research process. Students design and implement a discrete choice experiment, analyze the collected data, write a scientific term paper, and present the key findings both to the general public and to the academic community. Conceptual and theoretical foundations are introduced first and then applied in practice through a case study. The thematic context of the case study is defined jointly during the course.
