Case studies on business valuation

Classification

  • Seminar for Master-Students, taught by Dr. Lienau.
  • The course can be taken as an optional compulsory module with 5 ECTS from the section seminar M I.

Content and objectives

In this course, you will work on a case study to deal with theoretical and practical questions around the valuation of companies. The first part of the course presents the basic procedures of company valuation (especially DCF valuation methods) and explains and discusses the components and the process of valuation in detail. Subsequently participants work on a case study on company valuation and prepare a valuation report.

Examination and requirements

  • Preparation of a valuation report
  • Presentation of the valuation report in the seminar
  • Active participation in all meetings.

Lecture

  • The course is divided into blocks.
  • First block: Lectures on company valuation. Second block: Presentations of case studies.
  • Attendance is compulsory for the entire time of the event.

Conditions of registration and participation

  • Participation limited to 24 participants.
  • Application is informal. Send an e-mail to monika.schramm@uni-osnabrueck.de containing the following information: Information about the person (name, matriculation number, e-mail, telephone, adress), information about the study (course of study, number of semesters), information about the planned use of the seminar.
