06. October 2025 : Enhancing Tropical Landscape Multifunctionality, Resilience, Adaptability, and Health through Socio-Ecological Gains at Tropentag 2025

Members of the Department of Environmental Economics presented insights into the potential of collective contracts and participatory approaches for achieving fair and sustainable outcomes in landscape management at the workshop “Enhancing Tropical Landscape Multifunctionality, Resilience, Adaptability, and Health through Socio-Ecological Gains”. The workshop was held at the Tropentag conference on September 10, 2025, in Bonn.

The workshop provided diverse stakeholders, including researchers and policymakers, with a platform for sharing knowledge and ideas on (participatory) approaches to enhance coordination and address political-economic barriers in land-use planning. The presentation drew on input from previous research funded by the European Union, the German Research Foundation, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, USAID, and GIZ.
