12. May 2025 : Marieke Baaken keynote at the BeSafeBeeHoney 2025 Conference in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 2nd International Conference BeSafeBeeHoney – BeeForward: Exploring Beekeeping Innovations and Science took place from 6 to 7 May, 2025, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herze-govina. Funded by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), the confer-ence brought together over 100 experts, researchers, and beekeepers for groundbreaking discussions on honeybee health, sustainability - with a strong emphasis on its interlinkage with agriculture -and innovation.

Marieke Baaken was invited as a keynote speaker and contributed to Session 4: Partners in Pollination with a presentation titled “Leveraging Behavioral Insights for a More Sustainable Agriculture.” The conference is part of a broader COST Action, which supports collaborative research and innovation networks across Europe, enabling scientists to connect, exchange, and grow their ideas. Participants enjoyed insightful keynote speeches, dynamic workshops, and invaluable networking opportunities.
