Mindsets of sustainability

In this research line, BEE researchers investigate whether and how pro-environmental behavior (PEB), in line with a socio-ecological transformation, can be promoted by activating or strengthening other-regarding mindsets (in some literature streams also called preferences, values, action orientations etc.). A current focus is the study of how perspective-taking affects environmentally relevant decisions, in natural resource use, governance and consumption decisions.

Various members of the group also support with their expertise the Nature Awareness Study of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (https://www.bfn.de/themen/gesellschaft/naturbewusstsein.html).
