03. May 2017 : Completed Research Paper accepted at ECIS 2017 in Guimarães, Portugal

We are proud to announce that the completed research paper "Evaluating Augmented Reality Applications in Construction – A Cost-Benefit Assessment Framework based on VOFI" by Thuy Duong Oesterreich and Frank Teuteberg has been accepted for publication at the 25th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2017).

ECIS 2017 will take place June 5th-10th 2017 in Guimarães, Portugal. The ECIS conference has an "A" ranking according to the WKWI journal and conference ranking and a “B” ranking according to the VHB Jourqual 3 ranking.

The primary aim of this research paper is to develop an assessment framework for evaluating costs and benefits of information systems (IS) investments based on an Augmented Reality and Smart Glasses application scenario from the construction domain. Additionally, the authors demonstrate how a traditional cost-benefit analysis (CBA) can be applied more effectively to assist in the decision-making process. The quantification process is carried out by using the appraisal method Visualisation of Financial Implications (VoFI). Besides, risk considerations are made by conducting a sensitivity analysis and a probability risk analysis.
